Welcome to Speech Strides

At Speech Strides, we bring professional, play-based therapy to the places your child feels most at ease. Whether it’s at the kitchen table, on the playroom floor, or at their preschool, we meet your child in their natural element to make learning feel like second nature.

Communication is a family journey, and we are here to guide you every step of the way. Our therapists specialize in coaching parents to turn everyday moments—like snack time or bedtime stories—into powerful opportunities for language development. Together, we’ll help your child make meaningful strides toward clear and confident communication.

Meet Your Therapist

Suzy Speech, M.S., CCC-SLP

Owner, Speech-Language Pathologist

Hi, I’m Suzy — a licensed speech-language pathologist and the proud owner of Speech Strides. For more than a decade I’ve worked alongside young children and their families, helping little voices grow into confident communicators. I believe therapy is most powerful when it feels like play, and that parents are the most important teachers a child will ever have.

I founded Speech Strides to bring warm, individualized therapy directly into the spaces where children already feel safe and curious — at home, at preschool, and out in the community. Whether your child is just starting to find their words or working through more complex speech and language goals, I’d love to walk with your family every step of the way.

Helpful Information

Resources and answers to common questions from parents navigating speech and language development.

When Should I Be Concerned?

If your child isn't babbling by 12 months, saying single words by 16 months, or combining two words by age 2, it may be time for a speech evaluation. Early intervention is key to better outcomes.

What to Expect at an Evaluation

During the initial evaluation, we'll assess your child's speech, language, and communication skills through play and standardized assessments. We'll then create a personalized treatment plan together.

Tips for Home Practice

The best therapy happens between sessions! Read together daily, narrate your activities, repeat and expand on your child's words, and make communication fun through songs and games.

Insurance & Payment

We accept most major insurance plans and can provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement. Contact us to verify your benefits before your first visit.
